- 200 g (1 2/3 cups) all-purpose flour
- 10 g (1 1/2 tablespoons) matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 150 g (2/3 cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 150 g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 ml (scant 1/2 cup) fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 50 ml (3 1/2 tablespoons) milk
- 100 g (3/4 cup) powdered sugar, for the glaze
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice, for the glaze

- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Butter a cake pan and dust it with flour.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha, and baking powder. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the orange juice and zest. Add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the milk, and mix just until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake cools, whisk the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons orange juice to make the glaze. Drizzle over the completely cooled cake.
